Adopt a Italian Greyhound / Plott Hound / Mixed

Italian Greyhound / Plott Hound / Mixed Dog

Cleo the Dog needs a home

Hi my name is Cleo and I am a very loving little gal that can't wait to find a family to call my own! I am around 2 years old and weigh about 24 pounds. My foster mom wanted to name me Egypt because I remind her of the Egyptian dog statues, but instead decided to name me Cleopatra aka Cleo! I like my new name, as I too think I'm a queen. I am extremely people friendly and love to be held and give kisses. Foster mom picks me up like a baby and I wash her face with kisses when she lets me! I've never understood why she goes and washes her face again after I do it but she does it every time. Humans are weird... Foster mom is trying to teach me not to jump out of excitement when I meet new people but it is still a work in progress. I am dog selective and tend to prefer larger dogs to smaller dogs. With a slow introduction, I do well with pretty much all male dogs my size or bigger, and most large females. My best friend, that already got adopted, name was Brownie! We ran around my foster mom's backyard like there was no tomorrow! I get new friends a lot at this home but keep hoping my forever will come along!

I love children of all sizes, but I would prefer to go to a home with older children (pre-teen - teenagers) or to a kid-free home because of my high energy. I am not good with cats. I am crate trained and potty trained and I love to snuggle on the couch! If given a little time, I could be left in the house without a crate. I am an escape artist and got out of the fence at one of my foster mom's friend's house. Luckily, I am not a darter but just to be safe I should not be left unattended in the back yard unless it is very secure! Speaking of backyards... I would love to go to a home with a big back yard to play in. Currently I have a large back yard and am trained to use a doggy door. I have leash aggression that has improved while I've been with my foster mom, but it still has a long way to go. For the time being I would prefer to get my exercise in the backyard with my family or on walks where there are not a lot of other dogs. I love to walk but I get way too excited when I see a strange dog and I do not seem nice when that happens. I would benefit greatly from an owner that is dog savvy and willing to spend extra time with me on socialization/training related to my leash aggression.

I am up to date on vaccines, microchipped, spayed, heartworm negative, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention. My adoption fee is $225. If you have additional questions about me please contact my foster mom at [email protected]. If you would like to apply to adopt me please do so using this link:
